So, what does this mean?  GBA Lumetra LEC offers services to help physicians implement an EHR and to meet the federal "Meaningful Use" guidelines.  These are the conditions a physician must meet in order to be eligble to collect an award from $44,000 to $63,750 per provider over the next 5 years.

I need help!  Core services to help you make the decisions necessary to reach "Meaningful Use" are availabe from Lumetra, Open Medicine Foundation, PMG Tech Solutions or another CalHIPSO certified service provder.  Your choice!  See the list of providers on the CalHIPSO web site.

How much do these services cost?  This depends on to which of the groups listed below that you belong.  Click on the proper link to read an explanation letter.

• Priority Primary Care Providers  (Family Medicine, Pediatrics, General Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Geriatrics, and Adolescent Medicine).  A member of this group will receive most services gratis if joining in 2010.
• All other physicians who are SCCMS and CMA members  An annual fee of $150 per provider with a cap of $750 per practice.*
• All physicians who are NOT members of SCCMS and CMA  An annual fee of $600 per provider with a cap of $3000 per practice.*

*applies to practices of 10 or less providers, different fees if 11 or more.

EHR Meaningful Use

A new tip sheet from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is available, Stage 1 EHR Meaningful Use Measures for Eligible Professionals.  This sheet provides an outline of the 25 Core and Menu Set measures that make-up meaningful use for eligible professionals for Stage 1 of the CMS EHR Incentive Program.  Included are definitions of terms, attestation requirements, and additional clarifications, as applicable, by measure.
