The Santa Cruz County Medical Society's Board of Governors continues to work toward, and seeks input for, the Tenets of Health Care Reform. We wish to provide a unified voice that will address the following:
Universality for plans or programs that cover everyone.
Financially Feasible and Fair providing a structure that has broad based funding adequate to support necessary services.
Quality of Care measures and principles that improve quality and provide medically necessary services.
Choice and Responsibility for patients, supporters, enablers, and providers that shares responsibility.
Tort Reform to change adversarial litigious approach towards that of mediation or adjudication that supports both parties.
Not for Profit consider a change of governance for health care providers and companies.
Please join with your fellow physicians in an open and productive dialog for these critical issues that require the leadership of the physician community. Make your ideas and viewpoint known by sending comments and suggestions to SCCMS.
