Santa Cruz Medical Reserve Corps

Thank you for your interest in the Santa Cruz County Medical Reserve Corps, sponsored by SCCMS. It has been rewarding to have so many of you express interest in participating in the organization. As of June 2007 we have over 175 volunteer nurses and physicians. MRC volunteers will be trained to work within existing emergency response structures to provide enhanced surge capacity, triage and emergency health services to our community in major disasters such as earthquakes, pandemics, or terrorist events. Opportunities also will be available to assist in other emergency preparedness activities such as disaster exercises, mass immunization clinics, and community education activities.
