Health Insurance Open Enrollment
November 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016
Open enrollment for Covered California health insurance plans happen once a year. Open enrollment for 2016 coverage begins Nov. 1, 2015, and continues through Jan. 31, 2016. Covered California also offers a special-enrollment option for those who experience a life-changing event (such as getting married, having a child or moving) and need to enroll outside of open enrollment. Medi-Cal enrollment for those with qualifying incomes is available year-round. To get help with the application process or to get answers about health coverage under the Patient Protection Act, consumers can call the Covered California Service Center, visit the website, or find a local store front near you.
If you do not qualify for the government tax credits, or do not want to sign up with Covered CA, then you may go to any insurance broker and purchase an individual/family plan
