Included in the mission of the Santa Cruz County Medical Society is to help educate the public and its members about medical issues.  Listed below are the programs offered by the Society. Click the name of a program to go directly to detailed information.

  • Excellence in Health Care Award - Nominated by physicians, this award is given annually to a distinguished physician member in our community.
  • Speakers Bureau - Member physicians are available and volunteer their time and expertise to speak to community groups and organizations throughout the county.
  • Publications - The Society publishes the Annual Membership Directory  and Coastal Medicine Magazine.
  • Practice Management Forum  - Empowers physicians and their medical staff with valuable tools via networking and educational sessions led by professionals who are committed to delivering quality care.
  • Community Engagement Projects - In partnership with the CruzMed Foundation, Society members are engaged in community programs in three key interest areas: Pipeline, Public Health, and Preparedness. Physician members are invited to participate in one or more community projects.  These include: Health Care Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship Fund, MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) Schools Program in partnership with UCSC, The Obesity Prevention Project / 5210+ Program, and the Santa Cruz County Medical Reserve Corps.

Note:  Due to agreement changes in member benefits/services offered by one of our partners, the Medical Review Advisory Committee (MRAC) discontinued its services effective January 1, 2015, and services provided by the SCCMS Physician-Patient Mediation Committee are no longer provided effective July 1, 2015.  If you have questions, please contact Donna Odryna at 831-479-7226.
