On June 15th the legislature sent Governor Gavin Newsom Senate Bill 154, the primary state budget bill for fiscal year 2022-2023. Attached is a memo summarizing some of the highlights that would be of particular interest to our members.
 
The Governor will need to sign a state budget bill into law no later than July 1st for the budget year that begins on that day.  However, since the legislature and the Governor are still negotiating on some key budget priorities and on budget trailer bills, the expectation is that there will be an additional budget bill sent to the Governor before SB 154 is signed.
